Kanezako, a tea mountain in Yame Wanihachi. A north-facing tea mountain spanning an altitude of 550-600m.

Tea trees were planted on an area of about one cho (approximately 100m²), but about 80% of the tea plantation was abandoned. Although the conditions for sunlight and work efficiency were not ideal, the tea plantation was located at the highest point of the Wanihachi village. The owner of the garden was so enchanted by the area that he overcame opposition from the villagers and decided to develop it.

The tree is about 50 years old.

A cultivation method that takes advantage of the rugged Kanasako location using natural cultivation without fertilization.

お茶の名産地で知られる福岡県八女市の鰐八集落で、自ら栽培・加工まで一貫して行っています。肥料もほとんど与えず、山間の激しい寒暖差という過酷な環境で生育させたお茶は、「土地の個性」と「力強い味わい」を備えたお茶になります。

楽しみ方

味わいや香りの成分を豊富に蓄えている「山のお茶」のため、二煎、三煎と繰り返し抽出できます。

急須や茶漉しがなくても大丈夫。コップや大きめの湯呑みに茶葉とお湯を入れ、抽出できたら、レンゲやスプーンで茶葉をよけてお茶をすくいとり、別の湯呑みに移して飲むことができます。
